Gone Surfing is built to respect your privacy. Your surf session data stays on your devices unless you choose to share it. This policy explains what data the app handles and your choices.

Data stored on your device

Gone Surfing stores your surf sessions (including wave data, GPS routes, heart rate, and stats) locally on your Apple Watch and iPhone. Session data syncs between your own devices through your iCloud account and Apple Health, which Apple manages under its own privacy policy.

Apple Health integration

If you grant permission, Gone Surfing saves workouts to Apple Health and may read data such as heart rate to enrich your surf stats. This data remains under your control in Apple Health and is never shared with third parties by Gone Surfing.

Data we do not collect

We do not collect your surf session data, location history, or personal information on our servers. We do not sell or rent your data.

Website analytics and performance

This website uses Vercel Web Analytics to measure anonymous, aggregated page views and referrals. It also uses Vercel Speed Insights to measure anonymous performance data such as network speed, browser, device type, operating system, country and Core Web Vitals. Vercel Web Analytics does not use third-party cookies, and neither service associates data with individual visitors or IP addresses. App analytics and crash reports

We may receive anonymous, aggregated usage and crash data through Apple's standard developer tools to help us fix bugs and improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity.

Subscriptions and payments

Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We do not receive or store your payment details.

Children's privacy

Gone Surfing is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your choices

You can delete sessions at any time within the app, revoke Apple Health permissions in your device Settings, and cancel subscriptions via your Apple ID.
